ANDROID. Part-1.

Hi friends, I am a good learner, but I learn only those things which really interests me.

Right now I am working on ANDROID development, so I thought that I should share my knowledge with world and real knowledge seekers.

As I am writing all this things by myself, I will try to start from scratch.

In this first post about ANDROID, I will simply tell you about the versions of ANDROID, nothing else. Just for the sake of knowledge.

VERSIONS OF ANDROID.

1) Android Alpha: It was the first non-commercial version of Android. This version is also known as "R2-D2".

2) Android Beta : On 5th November 2007, the beta version of android along with its SDK         (Software development kit)  was released, and that date is known as the birthday of ANDROID.

3) ANDROID 1.0 [Astro]

4) ANDROID 1.1 [Bender]

5) ANDROID 1.5 [cup-cake]

6) ANDROID 1.6 [Donut]

7) ANDROID 2.0 and 2.0.1 [Eclair]

8) ANDROID 2.2 and 2.2.3 [Froyo]

9) ANDROID 2.3-2.3.7 [Gingerbread]

10) ANDROID 3.0-3.2 [Honeycomb]

11) ANDROID 4.0-4.0.4 [Ice-cream Sandwich]

12) ANDROID 4.1-4.2 [Jelly Bean]

13) ANDROID 5.0 [Key-Lime Pie]-- not released yet. Name confirmed.

These were Android versions till now.

SPECIAL NOTE:

Here two things should be noted. If you noted youself then you are genius, and if not, read below.
  • All versions of Android are given name from some famous desserts.
  • All version names are kept alphabetically. Starting from A for Astro to J for Jellybean.
So guys, you can always predict the next version. I guess next to be like lemonade or something.

So... Thats it fot this post. Stay tuned for treasure of knowledge which will open one by one..
